Superior pasteurization process

The main reason why people drink fruit juices is their healthy ingredients. However, there are huge differences between different products. This is why you need to know about the technology behind them in order to choose the right juice.

Nowadays, fruit juices are available in many different types of packages, the most popular ones being cardboard packages: Elopak and Tetrapak.

Apart from different looks, there is also a difference in the pasteurization process. To avoid adding preservatives which damage the quality of the juice, we use the process of pasteurization to ensure that the juice stays good.

Because of speed up production, juices in Tetrapak packages are pasteurized at a higher temperature which leads to degradation of a portion of the vitamins, as well as some other useful substances. Opposed to that, the pasteurization process for Elopak packages takes more time, but is carried out at lower temperatures, which ensures that a significantly higher amount of useful substances stay in the juice. Therefore when looking for a healthy fruit juice it's better to choose one in a Elopak package, just like Vitalis.

 

Real content instead of commercial tricks

When looked at on the store shelves, two-litre juices in Tetrapak packages look like they have a bigger volume, because the costumer only sees the front side of the package. But due to the lower depth, the height of the Tetrapak package is greater. Whilst juices in Elopak packages stand firm – The base is a cuboid with all sides the same – juices in Tetrapak packages lie on a very narrow surface, which make the packages less stable and makes heating cooled juice in them faster.

Thus, the two-litre juices in Elopak packages, such as Vitalis Family, do not try to attract customers with cheap commercial tricks such as greater height, at the cost of less depth. They instead provide real functionality – stability and longer maintenance of the desired temperature.
